Experience

Mr. Luckett’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, employment law, white collar criminal defense, securities law and corporate transactions.  Jack’s unique skill set allows him to conduct a multifaceted analysis of his client’s legal issues. He brings a keen-eyed business sense to his litigation practice by focusing on the bottom line, rather than wins or losses at trial, and he employs a litigator’s mindset when negotiating business transactions, helping his clients avoid any mistakes that might be exploited when a dispute arises.

Prior to joining Curran Tomko Tarski, Jack gained litigation experience with Hermes Sargent Bates, LLP, where his practice focused primarily on employment and commercial matters. Jack handled cases that involved libel/defamation, the Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA), interference with prospective contracts, wrongful discharge/termination, at-will employment, executive employment contracts, the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and various types  of discrimination alleged under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, including claims based  upon gender, pregnancy, sexual harassment, religion and race.  Jack also represented clients who were subject to administrative actions filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Labor.  Immediately following graduation, Jack worked for Dehay & Elliston, representing Exxon Mobil Corporation in toxic torts lawsuits involving premises liability, products liability and maritime law.

Mr. Luckett is admitted to practice before all Federal Courts in the State of Texas, including the Northern, Southern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Texas, along with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
